Studio Hallam – Returns & Refunds Policy
Last updated: 18/06/2026
Order Cancellations
You have a 24-hour grace period from placing your order in which to cancel free of charge, unless production, procurement, cutting, manufacture or fabrication has already commenced. For lampshade orders, this period runs from Studio Hallam’s receipt of payment for the lampshade, including any agreed delivery charges based on the delivery destination. Lampshade prices shown on our website exclude delivery and lampshades are not ordered through website checkout. After 24 hours, your fabric or lampshade will move into production and cancellation will no longer be possible, as all fabric is custom printed to order and all lampshades are bespoke/made to order and cannot be resold. If you request cancellation after production has begun, Studio Hallam may, at its sole discretion, agree to cancel. In this case, we reserve the right to deduct any costs already incurred (including printing, materials, procurement, cutting, manufacture and fabrication charges).
Non-Delivery
If you have not received all or part of your order, you must notify Studio Hallam within 30 days of placing your fabric order, or, for lampshade orders, within 30 days after the estimated delivery window in Studio Hallam’s final quote or order confirmation has passed. We will be unable to investigate or pursue a claim with our printer, manufacturing partner or delivery partner if you do not contact us within this timeframe. Lampshade orders will be posted or delivered only.
Incorrect, Faulty or Damaged Goods
Please contact us within 30 days of receipt if your order is incorrectly supplied, faulty, damaged, or materially different from the agreed specification. You must inspect your order promptly and provide reasonable evidence of the issue, including photographs where requested. For lampshade orders, please inspect the lampshade promptly on delivery and notify Studio Hallam of any visible damage, shortages, or delivery discrepancies within 48 hours of delivery, so that we can raise the issue promptly with the relevant delivery or manufacturing partner. This 48-hour request does not affect the 30-day notification period above or any statutory rights that cannot be excluded or limited. Where a return is required, Studio Hallam will arrange the return process in line with our printer’s or manufacturing partner’s procedures, and reasonable return postage costs will be refunded where the goods are accepted as faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied, or materially different from the agreed specification. Fabric is only considered faulty if it does not meet our Acceptable Tolerances (see below). Lampshades are only considered faulty where they are defective or materially different from the agreed specification, subject to the acceptable variations set out below. Depending on the circumstances and your statutory rights, the appropriate remedy may be repair, replacement or refund. Refunds or replacements will be processed within 14 days of our acceptance of the return.
Acceptable Tolerances and Variations
Please note that custom-printed fabrics and bespoke/made-to-order lampshades are produced within industry-standard tolerances and may involve reasonable variations. The fabric tolerances below apply to fabric only. Fabrics are considered acceptable (and not faulty) if they fall within the following limits:
-
Dimensions: Fabrics are printed with a tolerance of ±0.1mm, but environmental factors can cause shrinkage/expansion after printing. Fabric is considered acceptable if the printed area is accurate within ±2%.
-
Faults (front of fabric): No more than 5 faults measuring less than 1mm per linear meter; No more than 1 fault measuring up to 3mm per linear meter; No faults measuring over 3mm.
-
Unprinted areas: Faults outside the printed area are acceptable.
-
Reverse: Faults on the reverse side are acceptable unless visible from the front.
-
Meta Data: Small identifying print data may appear outside the printed area. This is part of our printer’s process and is acceptable.
-
Lampshades: Reasonable variations in colour, texture, pattern placement, finish, size, fitting and dimensions are acceptable and are not faults, provided the lampshade is not defective and is not materially different from the agreed specification confirmed or approved by you.
Unwanted Goods
We do not keep stock. Fabric is custom printed exclusively to your order and cannot be restocked. Lampshades are bespoke/made to order to the size, fitting, fabric or colour, quantity, dimensions, measurements and any other custom specification that you provide, select or approve. You are responsible for checking and confirming that all sizes, fittings, fabric or colour choices, quantities, dimensions, measurements, delivery destination, delivery charges and custom specifications are complete, accurate and suitable before placing your order or, for lampshade orders, before accepting or approving Studio Hallam’s final cost and order confirmation. For this reason, we are unable to accept returns for unwanted fabric or lampshades, change of mind, dislike of colour/design, incorrect measurements, unsuitable fabric choices, or an unsuitable lampshade size, fitting or specification. We strongly recommend ordering a fabric sample before placing a full fabric order to check colour, print scale and fabric feel in person. Samples are not available for lampshades. For lampshade orders, please check all product images, descriptions, size, fitting, fabric or colour, quantity, dimensions, measurements, delivery destination, delivery charges and custom specifications carefully before accepting or approving Studio Hallam’s final cost and order confirmation. This does not affect any return or remedy available for goods that are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied, or materially different from the agreed specification, or any statutory rights that cannot be excluded.
Refunds
Refunds are made using the original payment method. We aim to process refunds within 5 working days of acceptance, though banks may take longer to clear funds.
Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy affects your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, including any rights that cannot be excluded or limited for faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied, or misdescribed goods.
